Beginning July 1, Simon &Schuster will become the new distributor for Reader's Digest Children's Publishing. RD's children's titles are currently distributed by Random House.
Under the agreement with S&S, the company's children's sales force will sell to all outlets in the U.S., except mass market accounts and warehouse clubs, which will be called on by the RDCP in-house sales force. RDCP's distribution relationships outside the U.S. will not be affected by the new arrangement. Vivian Antonangeli, RDCP general manager, said that RD "will receive unparalleled coverage in wholesale channels through the Pocket Books sales group," adding that RD will "take advantage of S&S's special sales groups."
