Publishers Group West is the latest company to establish a distribution center in Reno, Nev. The company said it plans to move from its present 210,000-sq.-ft. warehouse in Hayward, Calif., to Reno by July 1. The new facility is 272,000 square feet and has the capability to be expanded up to 410,000 square feet.
Paul Wiley, v-p of warehouse operations, will relocate to Reno, as will all six of PGW's senior warehouse managers. PGW CEO Charlie Winton said PGW's new state-of-the-art facility will enhance the company's inventory-control capability and reduce shipping time to the East.
Amazon.com and Baker &Taylor also have distribution centers in the Reno area.
