Falcon publishing is deepening its commitment to the cookbook genre with the launch of its ThreeForks imprint. ThreeForks will specialize in regional cookbooks, including some series, as well as a number of one-of-kind titles; in addition, the 12 cookbooks that Falcon currently has in print will be reprinted under the ThreeForks imprint. The company expects to publish three to six new cookbooks each year.
The first ThreeForks title will be Chocolate Snowball and Other Fabulous Pastries from Deer Valley Bakery (Oct.), which has been chosen as an alternate selection of the Good Cook, a division of the Book-of-the-Month Club.
Falcon is enjoying a solid start to 1999, with sales up about 11% in the first half of the year, according to president and publisher Bill Schneider.
