Books International, a warehouse and distribution company based in Dulles, Va., has acquired Brassey's Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Brassey's Ltd. Best known for its works on military history, Brassey's Inc. has broadened its list to include titles on American history and sports. Brassey's publishes approximately 20-25 titles annually in the U.S., a number that will increase to about 40 titles next year. Don McKeon will continue to serve as Brassey's publisher.
Marketing and distribution for the publisher will now be handled by Books International's sister company, International Publishers Marketing. IPM represents more than a dozen U.S. and European independent presses, including Sutton Publishing, Capital Books and Allison & Clark.
