Lisa Holton has been named senior v-p, publisher, for the Global Children's Books division at Disney Publishing Worldwide, a unit that was formed in April as part of the restructuring of Disney's publishing businesses (News, Apr. 12).
In the newly created position, Holton will oversee the creative efforts for Disney's children's books on a worldwide basis and will continue to be responsible for the North American Disney book imprints: Hyperion Books for Children, Mouseworks, Disney Press and Disney Editions. For both children's books and continuity projects, the editorial and creative teams in the U.S., Paris and Milan will be under Holton.
Holton, who will report to Steven Murphy, executive v-p and managing director of Disney Publishing Worldwide, joined Disney in 1996 and most recently served as v-p, group publisher, Disney Children's Book Group. Holton told PW she hopes to be able "to develop and coordinate publishing projects that can travel worldwide."
