Looking to increase its book sales and membership, Vault.com, an online service that provides job information, has changed its name and announced plans to offer free online access to the full text of its 12 industry guidebooks to registered members. Vault.com membership is free.
Noah Zucker, Vault.com's director of book sales and marketing, told PW that the firm, formerly known as the VaultReports, wants to emphasize that it is a Web company. Offering the books online, said Zucker, will increase sales and will attract new members to the site. The Web site claims five million page views a month. The guidebooks and employer profiles offer sometimes biting commentaries on companies in a variety of fields, from book publishing to financial services. The site also offers message boards, job placement, newsletters, an online bookstore, management consulting and employment services.
