In the wake of its realignment of the Crown Publishing Group, Random House has named Steve Ross, previously v-p editorial director of Crown, senior v-p, editorial director of Crown, Times Business and Times Books, effective immediately.
Chip Gibson, president and publisher of the Crown Publishing Group, said Ross has been instrumental in making Crown's list "smart and profitable" and noted that Times Business and Times Books both publish "the types of books Steve understands well." The editorial staffs of all three publishing programs will report directly to Ross.
Before joining Crown in 1996, Ross was executive editor at Delacorte Press. At Crown he has acquired such bestselling titles as Uncovering Clinton by Michael Isikoff and Michael Jordan's For the Love of the Game.
