Beginning in 2000, Paulist Press will launch Hidden Springs, a trade imprint that will publish a line of nonfiction books with "a spiritual twist."
Jan-Erik Guerth, acquisitions editor of Hidden Springs, told PW the Hidden Springs list will be aimed at a general trade market and kept separate from Paulist Press religious titles. The HS list will focus on culture, history, personal growth, science and nature, health, business, home and travel. "We want to move away from spirituality as a separate category," said Guerth. "Our titles will explore the intersections between the secular and the sacred."
Hidden Springs will publish 10 titles a year and distribute them though ABA stores rather than CBA stores. Initial titles include Conversation: How Talk Can Change Your Life and Sacred Spaces in New York.
