After a year that saw four of its titles hit the bestseller lists, Talk Miramax Books is adding positions to what was a bare-bones staff. The house has named Kathy Schneider to the newly created position of publisher. Schneider was previously publishing director, reporting to TMB editor-in-chief Jonathan Burnham. Before joining the company last year, she was marketing director for Villard and Times Books for 10 years.
TMB also named Jillellyn Riley, formerly senior editor at Four Walls Eight Windows, as editorial director. Beth Butts has been named rights manager, a new position. She was previously business manager at Talk magazine.
