Last Tuesday's fund-raiser thrown by Tom Dunne turned out, as expected, to be an inspiring—and inspired—success. An estimated 400 people turned out to the SoHo space, and more than $103,000 was collected, including a donation of $5,000 Wednesday from BEA. The fund was helped along by matching programs from some publishers.
From the range of charities one could choose, Dunne said the greatest number of dollars were earmarked for the New York Times Neediest Cases and the New York firemen's relief fund. Anyone still interested in making a donation can get in touch with Tom at Thomas.dunne@stmartins.com
