Effective October 1, Simon & Schuster became the new, exclusive distributor of Franklin Covey audiobooks. Franklin Covey is the creator of materials, consulting services and workshops based on the principles published in such books as The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey. It sells its products through 170 Covey retail stores as well as to traditional bookstore outlets.
The new distribution deal builds on a longstanding relationship between the two companies, as S&S first published The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in 1989 (over 10 million copies sold), and the S&S Audio version of that title has sold 1.5 million copies. Going forward, S&S Audio will sell and distribute both frontlist and backlist Covey audiobook titles.
