Q. What do Susan Sarandon, Dan Rather, Dr. Laura Schlessinger and Dubya have in common? A. They're just a few of the many prominent figures skewered by controversial commentator Bill O'Reilly in The No Spin Zone, which jumps onto our nonfiction list in the #3 spot. This 20-year veteran of the TV industry (and winner of two Emmy awards) added "bestselling author" to his c.v. with last year's The O'Reilly Factor, which spent an impressive 30 weeks on PW's charts and sold more than one million copies. Not surprisingly, he's all over the airwaves these days—The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, The View, Politically Incorrect, The Charlie Rose Show, etc.—to promote his latest collection of invective; print coverage has ranged from Liz Smith's syndicated column to interviews in Penthouse and TV Guide and a January Esquire feature. Numerous author appearances over the next six weeks are taking O'Reilly from San Francisco's Commonwealth Club to New York City's 92nd Street Y. Broadway Books reports 617,000 copies in print after two trips to press.
