Colin Dickerson at Bloomsbury USA preempted Urban Tribes and the Never-Married , a study of those yuppies who seem to fight shy of commitment. It's by Ethan Watters, and was sold, world English rights, by Jay Mandel at William Morris.... Pocket's Louise Burke bought a companion book to the Sex and the City TV series on HBO from packager Charles Melcher of Melcher Media, who works with HBO Properties; the aim is to publish next fall, in hardcover and trade paper, in time for the Emmy-winning show's fifth season.
