A book of essays and reminiscences about her life and career by Emmy Award winning actress Patricia Heaton, currently starring in the hit TV show Everybody Loves Raymond, was bought by Bruce Tracy at Villard, for publication next fall. It's tentatively titled Motherhood and Hollywood and consists, said Tracy, of "funny and charming" stories about Heaton's Hollywood experiences as well as her personal life. He bought world rights from agent Mort Janklow.
Another recent buy by Tracy was of a memoir by celebrated fashion guru Andre Leon Talley, a longtime star at Vogue magazine who is currently its editor-at-large. His book will talk of the influence on his life of two powerful women: legendary Vogue editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland and his grandmother Bennie Frances Davis, who worked as a maid at Duke University. This was a world-rights buy from a younger Janklow, Luke, at the same agency.
