With a new owner and new financing, Troll Communications continues its makeover with the appointment of two new executives and the promotion of two staff members.
Curtis Thompson has joined Troll as chief operating officer. Thompson most recently had been executive v-p and chief financial officer at ViewWriter Technologies. Before joining ViewWriter, Thompson had been an executive with Primedia. Another new addition to Troll is Jane Fisher, who has been named to the new position of senior v-p for home and school sales. Fisher's background includes positions with Newbridge Educational Publishing, Macmillan Book Clubs and Scholastic.
Joining Fisher as a senior v-p is Wayne Friedman, whom Troll has promoted to senior v-p for book clubs. Friedman has been with Troll for 15 years and had been v-p, publishing operations and marketing. Thompson, Fisher and Friedman will all report to Peter Bergen, Troll's new CEO. A fourth personnel change was the promotion of Amy Sharry from marketing manager to director of educational sales and marketing.
Troll was acquired by Quad Ventures late last summer and received $7.5 million in additional financing from LLR Partners earlier this month.
