Jan Spalding, currently senior v-p for marketing at Harcourt Education, will become president of Harcourt School Publishers effective January 1, succeeding the retiring Steve Gandy. Spalding has been with Harcourt for 22 years in a number of positions including senior v-p for marketing at the school group. She will report to Tony Lucki, CEO of Harcourt Education.
In a second promotion, Nancy Chumbley has been appointed executive v-p of sales for the school group. Chumbley succeeds Suzanne Davis, who will also retire at the end of the year. Chumbley will report to Spalding.
