Liz Maguire, who took over as v-p and publisher of Basic Books from John Donatich last month (News, Dec. 16), has made some editorial staff changes, including hiring Chip Rossetti as senior editor. Rossetti, who had been an editor in the trade division at John Wiley, will be responsible for acquiring history and general nonfiction titles.
In other moves, Bill Frucht has been promoted to executive editor from senior editor and will continue to acquire titles in economics and science. Rossetti and Frucht will report to Maguire. Sarah McNally, who joined Basic as an editorial assistant last year, has been named assistant editor for Counterpoint, which was folded into Basic last fall.
