Rick Vanzura, who held a number of management positions at Borders Group between 1994 and 1999, has been named president of the company's Waldenbooks division, effective March 10. Vanzura replaces Ron Staffieri, who resigned as Walden president in December. He will report to Borders chairman Greg Josefowicz.
Prior to leaving Borders to become president of Lifemasters, a disease management provider, Vanzura served as president of Borders Online; senior v-p, Internet and fulfillment operations; and v-p, planning and finance. Vanzura left Lifemasters in 2000 to join General Motors as chief strategy officer for information systems and services.
