Gruhn's prior posts include director of publicity at HarperCollins Children's Books and her own public relations firm, CLG Media.... Margot Schupf has been promoted to the new position of executive editor, lifestyle books, from a similar assignment with organic living books. The former Clarkson Potter editor joined Rodale in 2002.
THORSONS ELEMENT Steve Fischer was appointed sales and marketing director USA for the Boston-based arm of the London firm. He was previously export sales director of HarperCollins USA and v-p sales and marketing for Tuttle.
TRIDENT MEDIA GROUP Kimberly Whalen has been promoted from managing director to v-p of foreign rights.
ATRIA BOOKS Greer Kessel Hendricks, former senior editor, has been appointed v-p. She was previously with Pocket Books and Scribner.
PROMETHEUS BOOKS Shawn Rucci has been named manager of the company's new print-on-demand division. He was formerly assistant director at Edwin Mellen Press.
THOMAS NELSON INC. David Dunham has been named senior v-p and publisher of the general trade publishing division. The former president of Legacy Publishing has more than 26 years of publishing experience.... Larry Stone will remain v-p and publisher of Rutledge Hill and Cool Springs Press, reporting directly to Dunham.
BOOKWORLD COMPANIES John D. Plough has been elected v-p of the Sarasota, Fla.—based sales and distribution firm, where he heads direct marketing and manages its new Bookworld Music division.
