Chicago-based agent Jane Jordan Browne, whose clients included pioneer Western photographer Edward Curtis and the bestselling Helen Hooven Santmyer, died February 27. She was 71.
Browne began as an editor in New York, at Hawthorn Books and Thomas Y. Crowell, before moving to Los Angeles to work for an architecture magazine and write the Architectural Digest Book of Celebrity Homes. She established her agency, Multimedia Product development, there in 1971 and moved it to Chicago in 1978.
