Dan Lynch has been named senior v-p and publisher of Tommy Nelson, the children's publishing division of Thomas Nelson. Lynch succeeds Laura Minchew, who moved to Integrity Publishers last month (News, Mar. 17). Lynch has been with Tommy Nelson since 1996 and most recently served as v-p of entertainment, where he focused on the imprint's nonbook products such as videos, audiotapes and toys. He will report to Michael Hyatt, executive v-p and group publisher of the Nelson Book Group.
In addition to Lynch's appointment, Dee Ann Grand has been promoted from v-p and associate publisher to v-p of publishing where she will oversee Tommy Nelson's book program. She will report to Lynch. Lynch has begun a search for a person to fill the role of director of entertainment media.
Tommy Nelson had a successful year in fiscal 2003, which ended March 31, and the company will expand the list from 80 titles (book and nonbook) to 110 titles in fiscal 2004. Lynch said a priority in the current year is to "dramatically increase our market share within the general market."
