HarperCollins has named Courtney Hodell editorial director of its Fourth Estate U.S. imprint. Former director Clive Priddle recently moved to Public Affairs; Hodell had been serving as publishing director of Fourth Estate U.K. since 2001.
The appointment of Hodell is part of HC's plan to integrate the Fourth Estate U.S. imprint more fully into its general books group. Founded a year ago, the imprint had reported to the U.K., but now all marketing and publicity functions will be handled by the general books group. HC will also up the number of books released under the imprint annually from six to 12. Hodell will work with, and report, to Christopher Potter and Dan Halpern, co-publishers of Fourth Estate U.S.
