The Penguin children's book group hosted a publication party for Wendell Minor's book America the Beautiful in Washington Depot, Conn., on May 17. A host of people came out for the event, including local authors, illustrators, television personalities, librarians and booksellers. A limited, signed print of the artwork on the cover of the book was raffled off (the winner: Norman Stevens).
