Christopher North has been named to the newly created position of chief operating officer of HarperCollins Canada. North, who will start his new job July 7, joined HC in 1999 after a stint at Booz Allen Hamilton. Before the current promotion, he served HC as v-p and general manager of electronic publishing.
At HC Canada, North will oversee supply-chain operations, finance, warehouse operations and customer service. North will report to HC Canada president and CEO David Kent, who called North's knowledge of HC's worldwide operations "a crucial element" in expanding the company's operation.
