The folks at Crown Forum are crowing about the excellent launch of Ann Coulter's Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism, the first book for the new imprint for conservative readers and #3 on our hardcover nonfiction chart this week. With only a week on sale, the publisher has had to rush back to press three times, bringing its total number in print to 462,000; first printing was 220,000 copies. The publicity campaign for Treason began with an appearance on Good Morning America on the book's on-sale date (June 24), followed by Coulter guest-hosting The View on June 25. She also appeared on a relentless lineup of top conservative radio talk shows, including Sean Hannity and Michael Medved, and on top cable programs such as Hannity & Colmes, Crossfire and Scarborough Country. Coulter will be appearing on more than 80 talk radio programs throughout July. Her previous bestseller, Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right, reported sales of more than 350,000 in 2002 and was on the weekly charts for 15 weeks, including four in the #1 slot.
