Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing has recalled one of its Dora the Explorer board books.
The title, Whose Birthday Is It?, was published in August, and 26,000 copies have been shipped. A plastic replica of a balloon attached to the book can detach and pose a choking hazard to young children. No incidents or injuries due to the book have been reported, and S&S is voluntarily taking the title off the market. After identifying the problem, S&S notified customers to ship back any stock, and very few books reached bookstore shelves, according to the company.
Consumers who have purchased the book can receive a replacement by contacting S&S.
