Oxford University Press and Handmark, a publisher of software for Palm OS and Pocket PC handheld devices, announced a long-term agreement to publish a number of reference titles for online distribution and retail.
The agreement covers a minimum of 15 Oxford titles that will be republished electronically exclusively by Handmark for use on Palm OS, Pocket PC and Smartphone devices. The Oxford American Desk Dictionary and Thesaurus is part of the agreement and is available now. Casper Grathwohl, editorial director, trade reference for Oxford, called the deal with Handmark an "important 21st-century extension of the Oxford publishing tradition."
Titles can be purchased through the Handmark Web store at www.handmark.com.
