Pat Kirby Sado, a longtime book buyer at Coliseum Books in New York City, died suddenly September 19. She was 56. Sado began her publishing career at BookMasters in 1969. She then managed the Whole Earth Bookstore in Evanston, Ill. She returned to New York City in 1974 as hardcover buyer for Coliseum Books, where she bought books for nearly 30 years, until the store's closing in 2001. She then worked briefly at the Drama Book Shop and more recently became assistant manager at the Juilliard Bookstore. Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Nathalie Sado Educational Fund, c/o Barbara Passy, East Hampton Business Service, 20 Park Place, East Hampton, N.Y. 11937.
