BBC Worldwide Americas, which recently signed with Trafalgar Square to represent the bulk of its books in the U.S., announced that Diamond Book Distributors will distribute its Doctor Who novels in North America. The Timonium, Md., distributor also signed an agreement with Gutsoon! Entertainment to distribute its graphic novels in the book and comic book specialty markets.
In other news, Hushion House will take on Canadian distribution for Moon Mountain Publishing, North Kingstown, R.I., which specializes in illustrated children's books, such as Brian Lies's Hamlet and the Enormous Chinese Dragon Kit. Words Distributing represents Moon Mountain to the trade in the U.S.
Distributed Arts Publishers announced that it will represent the Guggenheim Museum starting this fall. It looks like D.A.P. could be heading for a grand slam of New York City museum publications: last year it signed on the Museum of Modern Art. Both were formerly represented by Harry N. Abrams. Abrams, however, added a new client of its own, 30-year-old Vendome Press, in June. Vendome recently added former Abrams publisher Mark Magowan as majority partner.
