Also marking its second week on PW's charts is another Broadway Books release, On the Down Low: A Journey into the Lives of "Straight" Black Men Who Sleep with Men. Following an initial printing of just over 13,000, this title is now up to 135,000 copies after nine trips back to press. Author J.L. King has, to put it mildly, a full calendar these days: his tour began on May 11 and continues through June, with, in the words of associate publicity director Joanna Pinsker, "requests for appearances pouring in every day." No doubt a full hour with Oprah back in April hasn't hurt the book's momentum. —with reporting by Dick Donahue
"Behind the Bestsellers" will take next week off: we'll be at BEA along with, we suspect, a great many of this column's readers. Enjoy Chicago!
