National Book Network continues to remake Plymbridge, the struggling U.K. distributor it bought late last year. In the latest move, NBN has named Sheila Bounford sales and marketing director. Bounford, who had been executive director of the Independent Publishers Guild, will be responsible for new business development and will oversee the introduction of sales and marketing services to clients.
NBN has also announced that it is changing the name of Plymbridge to NBN International. Irv Myers, president of Plymbridge, said that while the NBN name will continue to be used in the U.S. and Canada, all NBN operations outside those countries will be part of NBN International. He noted that the problems encountered by Plymbridge under the previous ownership "made the Plymbridge name less useful."
