Sterling Publishing is creating a new position for Martin Schamus, its longtime director of special sales, and bringing in Ron Davis of Simon & Schuster to replace him. Davis currently heads S&S's specialty wholesale and retail sales department.
Schamus will become director of new business development. The job is focused mainly on new businesses within special sales, said Sterling chief Charles Nurnberg, who emphasized that the idea of the job is to expand into new accounts as opposed to selling more into current ones.
