That's what Entertainment Weekly called author Jennifer Weiner in a September 17 feature story, highlighted by a striking photo of the full-figured writer, who asked, "Why should skinny girls have all the fun?" And fun this lady's having: Weiner's 2001 debut, Good in Bed, garnered major attention, big sales and a 46-week run on PW's list in its Washington Square Press trade paper edition. WSP's trade paper edition of book #2, In Her Shoes, ran for 14 weeks and is now being made into a Fox 2000 movie starring Cameron Diaz and Shirley MacLaine and directed by Curtis Hanson. Little Earthquake is Weiner's first hardcover to hit PW's list; after four printings, Atria reports 220,000 copies in print. The author, who's currently on a 15-city tour, was a big hit on the September 28 Jane Pauley Show, telling women struggling with weight issues, "You don't have to be skinny to have a happy ending."
