WND Books, the book extension of the WorldNet Daily Web site, which recently ended its agreement with Thomas Nelson, has found a new home. The imprint will become a part of Cumberland House, the publisher formed by ex—Rutledge Hill executive Ronald Pitkin. "The partnership was forged to bring news-driven topics into a medium where the truth has finally found a platform," said Pitkin. The arrangement takes effect on January 1.
Cumberland is a relatively small house—fewer than 20 employees—and revenue of less than $8 million. While it has focused more on history, it is clearly hoping the WND deal will give it some added relevance and exposure; the Web site has millions of visitors and has also had success branding books with Nelson, which recently went its own way with a new political imprint called Nelson Current.
