Gigantic Graphic Novels, a new Brooklyn, N.Y.—based independent publisher, will release its first books next February. Started by writer Rick Spears, GGN will publish six to eight books a year beginning with a collected edition of the popular series Teenagers from Mars, written by Spears and illustrated by Rob G.
Gigantic will expand its offerings with Dead West, an all-new western graphic novel by Rob G. and Spears. Spears told PW he also has a "slew of projects in the pipeline, including the sequel The Curse of the Teenagers from Mars as well as a slate of original works from an array of fresh young talent."
"We've had great success with both comics fans and non—comic-book readers with Teenagers," Spears added. "We're very excited to have the collected trade book edition out in wide release."
Publishers Group West is handling distribution to the book trade, while GGN will be distributed through Diamond, FM International, Cold Cut and Bulldog to the comic shops market.
