Is this the age of the nanny, or what? First there was the surprise megaseller The Nanny Diaries, then came the stage musical version of Mary Poppins (winning raves in London, with a transatlantic crossing in the works) and now, it's Supernanny: How to Get the Best from Your Children by TV star and former nanny (15 years experience) Jo Frost. And talk about a built-in audience: Frost's new ABC-TV show—Supernanny, of course—has drawn an average of 10 million viewers since its January 17 debut. Its January 31 airing ranked #1 in the night's final hour among that prized demographic group, adults 18—34. (The show has been a TV staple in England since its premiere last summer.) Not surprisingly, Hyperion's promotional campaign reads like a publicist's dream list: from an Entertainment Tonight interview to Good Morning America, features in People and Newsweek and on and on. Copies in print have reached an impressive 225,000 after three trips to press.
