Smith Moves To Yale
Ileene Smith has left her post as v-p and senior editor at RH Trade to become editor-at-large of Yale University Press. At Yale, Smith will acquire nonfiction titles and work to build the nonfiction program.
Harding Going to Nelson
Former local radio producer and news anchor Curt Harding, most recently creative production manager at the headquarters of Family Christian Stores in Michigan, is joining Thomas Nelson as a senior publicist.
New Hires at Sourcebooks
Two new managers join the bookmaking department: Michael Ryder, previously editor-in-chief of Lean Press, will be handling copyediting and manufacturing, while Fred Marshall, previously managing editor at CCH, will become managing editor. Howard Baumann is also joining as senior print buyer.
New Gig for Wilk
David Wilk has left his post as senior v-p for client services at CDS to join Resolution Inc., where he is v-p of strategic business development. Wilk will serve as Resolution's liaison to the book industry and will also help develop e-commerce and content management services.
Promotions at FSG
Janine O'Malley, formerly associate editor, Books for Young Readers,has been promoted to editor. Barbara Grzeslo, formerly senior designer, is now assistant art director. Designer Jay Colvin has been promoted to senior designer.
Whitehorn Joins UNM Press
William "Clark" Whitehorn, formerly publications director at the Montana Historical Society, has been named an acquiring editor at the University of New Mexico Press, for western U.S. history, environmental studies and Latin American history.
Kenney Rises At Zondervan
Verne J. Kenney, formerly v-p of sales and forecasting, has been promoted to v-p of sales. He replaces Chris Doornbox, who left to become CEO of Cook Communications.
Schmidt Hired at KPB
Jonathan Schmidt, previously with Tor Books, has been named managing editor of Key Porter Books in Canada.
Edwards Joins ILS
Michael Edwards, formerly with Thomson Gale, has been named director of sales at Ingram Library Services.
