(Measured in $ sales against same time periods, 2005) Driven by big gains of basal sales in adoption states, sales in the elhi segment jumped 39.1% in September, according to AAP's preliminary estimates. For the first nine months of the year, elhi sales were up 9.9%. The higher education segment also had another good month, with sales up 9.7% in September and ahead 6.1% for the nine months. In trade, adult hardcover sales were off 9.9% in the month and down 1.9% in the January through September period. The other trade segments had gains in September, led by children's hardcover, which posted solid gains in the month even as sales of Harry Potter waned. | ||
