Deborah Cannarella has been named executive editor at Quayside Publishing. Cannarella, formerly editorial director at Taunton Press, will be working in Quayside's Creative Publishing division.
Milnes Promo'd at Nick
Margaret Milnes has been promoted from director of book publishing to v-p, book publishing, for Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products. Milnes has worked on licensing deals for such franchises as SpongeBob SquarePants, Zoey 101 and Dora the Explorer.
Kurtzman to Hyperion
Nellie Kurtzman is moving to Hyperion. The former DC Comics director of marketing will hold the same title at Hyperion Books for Children. Before joining DC, Kurtzman worked at S&S.
Rose Rises At HC
Rhonda Rose has been promoted to v-p, director of mass merchant sales, at HarperCollins. Rose, who joined the house four years ago, previously held the title of national accounts manager.
Scholastic Nabs Watts
Peter M. Watts has been named senior v-p of human resources at Scholastic. Watts, who will report directly to chairman Richard Robinson, had been v-p of human resources at Novartis.
