Two notable promotions this week at Warner Books: Caryn Karmatz-Rudy has been promoted from senior editor to executive editor. Jimmy Franco has also moved up, from associate publicity director to deputy publicity director.
UCP Gets Lynch
Robert Lynch has been named books division manager at the University of Chicago Press. Most recently Lynch was president of Thomson South-Western.
Chalfant & Hobbs Up At Wylie
The Wylie Agency announced two staff changes last week: Sarah Chalfant, the veteran head of the agency's New York office, has been promoted to director and shareholder. Franklin W. Hobbs, formerly chairman of Warburg Dillon Read, has joined the agency's board.
Hires at Globe Pequot
Globe Pequot has hired three new staffers and promoted one editor. Maureen Graney, formerly at the Taunton Press, has been named editor-in-chief of Lyons Press; Scott Bowen, most recently at Field & Stream, has been named editor; Mark Keegan, formerly with Savoir-Faire, has been named art director; and Tom McCarthy has been promoted from senior editor to executive editor.
Conaway to Harbor House
Renee Conaway has joined Harbor House as director of publicity. She was most recently at the Savannah, Ga., public relations firm Longwater & Company.
