Navratil to Clarkson Potter Style
Chris Navratil has joined Clarkson Potter Style as editorial director. Navratil, who will start February 27, leaves his post as executive director of sales and marketing at Chronicle Books to fill the newly created role.
Rodale Nabs Weidknecht
Katrina Weidknecht has been named senior director of public relations at Rodale Books. Weidknecht, who will be based in New York, was most recently director of publicity at Penguin Young Readers Group.
James Up at Random
Pauline James has been promoted at Random House from v-p of the royalty and contracts group to senior v-p of royalty, operations and contracts. James has been with the publisher for nearly 17 years.
McLean Goes To ABC
Kristen McLean has joined the Association of Booksellers for Children (ABC) as executive director. Most recently marketing manager at Kingfisher Books, McLean will succeed Anne Irish in March; Irish is retiring after taking over the executive director position in 2002.
Broussard to ReganMedia
Michael Broussard has been hired at ReganMedia as a senior editor. Broussard, who will be looking to develop projects for print, television and online, joins the company from Dupree/Miller and Associates, where he represented a number of projects including Catherine Crier's A DeadlyGame and the book by American Idol winner Fantasia, Life Is Not a Fairy Tale.
Rogers to Mountaineers
Kate Rogers has joined the Mountaineers Books, a Seattle-based publisher of environment book and outdoors titles, as editor-in-chief. Rogers previously owned and operated the book packager Unleashed Book Development.
