Ciecierski to Stylus



Andrea Ciecierski has joined Sterling, Va.—based Stylus Publishing as v-p of marketing and business development. Ciecierski spent the last 17 years of her career at Routledge, where she held various positions in the marketing and sales departments.

Chatillon to Scholastic

Devereux Chatillon is replacing Charles Deull as Scholastic's general counsel. A 25-year veteran of the legal field, Chatillon has represented a wide range of clients from independent book publishers to movie studios to magazines. She was most recently a partner at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, concentrating her practice in media/First Amendment, intellectual property and litigation areas.

RD Nabs Kahn

Reader's Digest has named Jodi Kahn president of digital business. Tasked with growing the company's digital media presence, Kahn will report to RD president and CEO Eric Schrier. Kahn was most recently publisher of TIME for Kids; prior to that she was v-p of business strategy for Time Inc. Interactive.

Dorozenski, Bittman Up At Scribner

Molly Dorozenski and Kate Bittman have both been promoted in the Scribner publicity department. Dorozenski, who's worked on campaigns for such authors as Dana Spiotta, Maile Meloy and Lisa Fugard, has been bumped up to associate publicist. Bittman, who's worked on titles such as The Joy of Cooking and Jeannette Walls's The Glass Castle, has been named senior publicist.

Haas to Ryland

Kevin Haas has been appointed v-p of North American sales at Ryland Peters & Small. He arrives at the post from the Quayside Publishing Group.

Two Up at HC Children's

Christina Gilbert has been promoted in the marketing department at HarperCollins children's division, while Mary Albi has joined the group. Gilbert, who's jumping to senior director of marketing and has been with the publisher for three and a half years, has managed the marketing for the Greenwillow imprint. Albi, who most recently was at Virgin Books USA, is joining as director of marketing.

Binkley Back to Borders

Ann Binkley is returning to Borders Group as director of public relations. Binkley held the same title at the company from 2001 to 2003 and, in the intervening years, worked for New York is Book Country and helped launched the Quill Awards. She'll start at Borders on July 10.
