With 11 winners and 10 losers, the Publishers Weekly Stock Index was virtually flat in June, rising less than one-tenth of a percentage point in the month. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also had little movement, down only 0.2%. One trend that carried into June from May was the bookstore chains' stock performance. For the second consecutive month, Books-A-Million posted a solid increase in its stock price, while the share prices of Borders and Barnes & Noble declined.
