Hopple to Guideposts
Richard Hopple will join Guideposts April 16 as president and CEO, succeeding John Temple, who has held those posts since 1991. Hopple held executive positions with several of the nation's largest advertising firms before helping to launch Unicast, a provider of content and services to the Internet.
Friedlander to Abrams Image
Beau Friedlander will join Harry N. Abrams June 1 as editorial director for its Abrams Image imprint. Friedlander will report to Leslie Stoker, who is senior v-p, publisher, for Stewart, Tabori & Chang and Abrams Image.
Morrow Adds Two
Sarah Burningham and Aurora Hughes have joined the William Morrow publicity department. Burningham, who's been named associate director of publicity, most recently held the same title at the now-defunct Regan Books, where she worked on campaigns for Neal Boortz's Somebody's Gotta Say It and Susan Estrich's Soulless. Before Regan, Burningham was at Miramax Books. Hughes, who's been named assistant publicist, graduated from NYU in 2006 and interned at Regan Books.
McQuade Up At Goldberg McDuffie
Grace McQuade has been promoted from v-p and director of public relations to executive v-p at Goldberg McDuffie Communications. McQuade, who joined the firm in 1996, has worked on campaigns for authors Tess Gerritsen, David Baldacci and Lisa Scottoline.
Bole Up at BISG
Angela Bole has been promoted from marketing and communications manager to the new position of associate director at the Book Industry Study Group. Bole joined BISG in 2005.
Malkin, Davey To Rodale
Andrew Malkin, v-p for Ingram International, was named v-p of Rodale Trade Book Sales. Beth Davey, publicity strategist at Inkwell Management, has been hired as v-p of publicity for Rodale Books.
