After holding even at $1.46 billion in the last two years, revenue at Random House's U.S. operations rose to approximately $1.48 billion in 2006, according to figures in parent company Bertelsmann's annual report. The U.S. total was hurt by unfavorable exchange rates: in euros, sales in the U.S. were up about 5%, to 1.10 billion euros.
Earlier this year, RH reported worldwide revenue of 1.9 billion euros ($2.5 billion), up 6.5%. In the annual report, the company notes that 4% of the gain came from organic growth and 2.7% from acquisitions (currency translations depressed gains by 0.2%).
