Halfway through 2008, sales in eight of the 13 segments tracked by the AAP in its monthly sales report had a decline in revenue. The two electronic categories had very different performances in the six months with 13 e-book publishers reporting that sales rose 43.3%, to $22.2 million, while 13 audiobook publishers reported a decline of 15.5%, to $74.5 million. The religious book segment had the largest decline among the print segments, while trade paperbacks had the biggest gain. In the elhi segment, sales of supplementary materials were off 9.4% in the six-month period, while sales of basal textbooks increased 6.0%. | ||
