August was truly a mixed month for sales, according to AAP’s monthly sales estimates, with revenue falling in seven categories while increasing at six. The eight elhi publishers who reported sales had a 16.6% drop in the month, with basal sales off 17.3% and supplementary sales down 11.6%. The 12 reporting religious publishers had a 10.8% decline in sales. The adult hardcover category had a surprisingly good month, with sales up 9.2% for the 17 publishers who submitted data. The e-book category continues to be the fastest growing segment, with the 13 e-book publishers reporting an 82.9% increase, to $4.3 million. For the first eight months of the year, e-book sales were up 52%, to $31.1 million. | ||
