With The Lost Symbol and True Compass both hitting stores in September, sales for the 17 hardcover publishers that submit to the AAP had a 74.1% jump in sales in the month, according to the association's monthly sales report. For the first nine months of the year, hardcover sales for the 17 houses were up 2.9%, to $1.04 billion. The adult hardcover segment also benefited from an 18% decline in returns in September. E-book sales continued to skyrocket, increasing 170.7%, to $15.9 million in September and up 176.1%, to $112.2 million, in the year to date for the 13 publishers that report data | ||
