Bestseller Stat Shot

Occupying the #12 spot on our Hardcover Nonfiction bestseller list is The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism by Naoki Higashida (Random). The book had plenty of lit-world stardust before its late-August publication, thanks to one of its translators—Cloud Atlas author David Mitchell. And while it saw reasonably strong sales, things didn’t really take off until Oct. 1, when Jon Stewart interviewed Mitchell on the Daily Show, where he called The Reason I Jump “one of the most remarkable books I think I’ve ever read” and suggested viewers read it for themselves. Boy, are they. Here’s a week-by-week breakdown of print unit sales since the book came out.
