Louis Zamperini, war hero, Olympic track star and hero of Laura Hillenbrand’s bestselling Unbroken, died last week at 97. His death made national news, and the book, which has sold steadily since its 2010 publication, saw an 89% increase in print unit sales over the previous week. Unbroken has also become a Father’s Day favorite, getting a nice lift ahead of the holiday for the past two years. Here’s the book’s sales history going back eight weeks.
